#FitnessFriday: Winter Workout Guide

There’s no better time to start a new fitness routine than after a holiday season of indulgence. In Chicago and New York, the cold weather doesn’t mean you still can’t find time to get fit, while in Los Angeles you can take advantage of the motivation sunnier days provides. Regardless, warm up this winter with our #FitnessFriday selections for cold weather workouts in each of our cities.


Winter Warriors Half Marathon Training, Various Locations  
Chicago Endurance Sports (CES) provides a series of winter workshops for runners to keep you in shape during the cold weather season. The Winter Warriors Training Program helps to maintain and improve your fitness while prepping for any upcoming half marathons. Likeminded runners in each training session help motivate and inspire other team members so no one gets left out in the cold.

New York

Yoga 216, 511 West 20th Street
Forget the frigid temps with a 95 degree heated yoga session. Yoga 216 is a boutique yoga studio (classes cap at six students total) tucked away in Chelsea that also offers full wellness treatments such as Ayurveda skin care and massages.

Los Angeles

At Training Mate, you can experience a sense of down under in West Hollywood with this studio’s Australian training team. Training Mate offers a circuit-based 45 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) class that uses a combination of resistance and cardiovascular exercises to burn up to 1,000 calories in one session.  Each interval occurs in a different area of the studio ending in the outdoor urban garden where, unlike Chicago and New York, you can sweat year-round in shorts and a tank top.
