Conscious Living: Spring Cleaning for the Soul

Spring cleaning doesn’t just apply to your closets. What better way to usher in a new season than a spring cleaning session for your body and mind?  Whether you want to shake off the winter blues or reset for a new season, try some of these simple lifestyle changes below to start spring feeling refreshed and reenergized.  

1. Sleep.
Make a commitment to go to bed and rise the next morning at roughly the same time each day, making sure your body gets at least a healthy seven hours. This can be one of the most impactful changes on your overall health – sleep has been shown to improve your memory, curb inflammation and spur creativity.

2. Write.
Before hitting the sheets, keep a gratitude journal by writing down what you are thankful for each night. Studies show that those who keep gratitude journals are more satisfied with their lives, less stressed out and have improved self-esteem.

3. Detox.
Take a few minutes for you at night by soaking in a detoxifying bath using Epson salts, clay or essential oils. Alternatively, before pouring that first cup of coffee in the morning, sip on detoxifying warm lemon water or an herbal tea.

4. Refuel.
