Inside Modrn Sanctuary: A NoMad Wellness Center
In the heart of the NoMad neighborhood is a place where old meets new and east meets west. Founded by Alexandra Janelli, a leading health entrepreneur, Modrn Sanctuary (12 W. 27th St.) is a luxury wellness center with holistic practitioners that use both traditional and alternative healing methods for optimal health.
Modrn Sanctuary features a main lounge boasting comfortable seating, complimentary WiFi and antique, Balinese design touches. The plentiful treatment rooms offer soothing colors and sounds, while each is outfitted with contemporary art from local and international artists. The center also boasts a Himalayan Salt room, (something Primehouse fans know well), for halo-therapy.
And because we’re opening our own modern sanctuary, The James New York – NoMad, nearby this summer – we’re sharing a few of the treatments we can’t wait to try out in our new ‘hood.
1. The Gem Stone Rebalance. Because gems make everything better. This luxurious treatment starts with gemstone hydrotherapy, exfoliation and pressure point treatment. It’s capped off by a powerful gemstone massage, plus a finishing mask and hand treatment.
2. Reiki. A natural, effective and simple treatment that can be used to accelerate physical and spiritual healing - Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
3. Crystal Light Bed Therapy. Crystal Bed Therapy uses extremely clear, highly polished precise Vogel quartz crystals. Colored lights matching the vibrational frequency of chakra colors radiate light and energy - they shine on and off in healing rhythms to cleanse, balance and align your energies.
4. Life + Business Coaching. In Modrn Sanctuary’s words – they “partner with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize personal and professional potential.” The outcome? Fresh perspectives on challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision-making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness and increased confidence. Sounds good to us.
